Concert

Just thought I would post some pics from the Fergie concert last night. She put on a great show, she even did a couple of one handed cartwheels (impressive). The fair was great also, I do not want to list everything I ate, but lets just say I should not have any sugar or anything fried for a very long time. I highly reccomend the Australian battered potatos..... mmm so good!

Fair/Concert

I am off of work today. yay! I am getting ready to go up to the Del Mar Fair (I guess it is now the San Diego County Fair), my BFF Sarah and I are going to walk the fair, or should I see eat our way through the fair for a few hours and then at 7:30 PM we head over to the grandstands to see Fergie in concert. Hopefully she will put on a good show. It was nice not getting up at 5 AM for work today. But I did go to the mall and spend money. Victoria Secret is having an awsome clearance sale on their lotions and perfumes etc. New york and Co. is having a sale also. I even bought a few christmas gifts today. Gotta love those summer clearance sales. Now lets see what damage I do at the Fair - at least the tickets were bought already. We are leaving as soon as Sarah's sister gets off of work at 3Pm to come and watch her kids. So I am off to get ready.

Jess update

Baby Jess is home and resting. We picked her up first thing Sunday morning. She has 6 drainage tubes that can be removed in 3 days. She has multiple stiches that can come out in 10-14 days. The first few hours were rough. Her pain injection must have worn off and she would not unclench her jaw so we could give her a pain pill. Finally around 2 Pm she took a pill and then fell asleep. I wanted to thank everyone for their thoughts and comments. Even though she is a dog, she is much more than that to me so I thank you all.

JessJess

JessJess AKA BabyJess AKA The Brat was attacked by a damn coyote this morning around 7 AM. She also was attacked almost four years ago to the day. The coyote grabbed her right next to our front porch. My dogs are house dogs, they only go out to go to the bathroom or if they want to go out for a bit, but someone is always with them. I live in Lemon Grove which is a small city in San Diego. I mean the dang trolley is a hop skip and jump away. Where are these coyotes coming from? Anyway, I got a little side tracked (I am soooo tired).
The coyote was a pup and it dropped Jess in the middle of the street. Jess was in shocked and she stared running down the middle of the street towards the craziest intersection. Cars were pulling over for her. She had a nasty cut on the back of her neck and a puncutre wound on her neck. Four years ago when this happened it was a large adult coyote and it shook Jess around by the neck before it let her go, which resulted in her tracchia (sp?) being torn in half even though all we could see were the puncture wounds. She had to have surgery to repair that. Now back to today, the vet did not hear any air in her throat so there was a chance that since it was a pup and it dropped her sooner than last time that her tracchia was not punctured. They told us that we could prob pick her up at 6 PM, they need to run antibiotics, stich up the back of her neck and then go in and explore her wounds, check for internal damage and then clean them up because coyotes are dirty animals. Well 6 has came and gone and they had not brought her in for the wound surgery exploration thingy. I guess they were busy and have had several emergincies, including 3 other coyote related accidents. So I try back at 8 still nothing, they say she is next in line and she should be done at 10:30 PM. I feel horrible for her, she is wondering where we are. i want to bring my other dog Sadie there to sit with JessJess.... So I just called at 10:30 PM and they are finally prepping her and the xray shows that there is no air in her tracchia. So I am going to call at midnight even tough they said they would call when they were thru. I really do not want her to have to stay the night even though now it looks like I will not have a choice....... Poor thing, I hope this does not change her personality but really, how could it not. She is probably going to be afraid of her own shadow but who can blame her.
Oh and did I mention how hot it is here today? wow and it is only June.
Oh and when I was chasing my dog, I was in underwear and a bathtowel that I grabbed as I was running out the door - yeah it is hot so I only sleep in underwear (TMI) but you have to hear this. SO when I get back from the vet my neighbor who had his 75th birthday Thursday told me that he saw me running half naked like an olympic runner!
That is my saturday, the first official day of summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I got back to town yesterday and today reality sent it and I had to go back to work. Right now I am hot, tired, and my back is itching because I am starting to peel!
Lake Havasu was great, the Bratcher clan was out in full force. There were approx. 31 people in our group. There were 6 little ones from 10 1/2 weeks to 4 years old, a couple of teens, then the rest were from the early 20's to 76. It was great to see everyone again and I got to meet two new additions to the extended family. Wed, thurs, Fri we had perfect weather. Sat and Sun it was up to 111 degrees. You cannot tell it is that hot when you are out on the Lake. You can tell if you go back into the campground during the day. It is down in a cove and there is no breeze. We typically leave the campground around 8 AM and return around 6 PM, you eat, shower, and then usually pass out from being out in the sun all day. We were lucky enough to find a sand/rock bar that would fit all of us. One of the cousins would stay the night out there on the sandbar so that we would not have to bring everything in each night. I have pics and asa soon as I load them I will post them. Hopefully I will feel like doing this tomorrow after work :)

As of 3 hours ago I am officially on vacation! As soon as I pulled out of that parking lot I turned off my leash (nextel). I have not taken more than a day at a time off since I took a few days off for Christina's bachlorette party last year. 3 weeks ago I maxed out my vaca hours at 160 hours. That is the point where you stop accuring hours. I am going to Lake Havasu tomorrow and returning on Monday. Even though it is going to be hot I do not care. You live in the water all day any way and stay in the motorhome with A/C in the evening.......
My moms extended family goes every June. I went every year as kid but when you growup and go to work it does not work out as much anymore. Most of my birthdays growing up were spent at the Cattail Cove campground in Havasu. Now a days it seems as if kids get out of school earlier. I cannot wait (can't you tell). The last time I went was in 05. Hopefully I get some good pics that I can post. Ok, well I am off to finish packing and make some cold chicken pasta salad to take (it is too hot for hot food).
Peace out
I am on vacation!

Wow, where has the first half of the year gone? I worked another charity event fro work today. This one was down in Coronado at the bay. It was Bay 2 Bay, riders could use any human powered water craft and row/paddle/etc from either Shelter Island or Mission bay to Coronado tidelands park. It was a 20 or 5 mile course. I did the 20 mile (yeah right!) - we fed all the participants and their families lunch at the finish line. the morning started out gloomy and windy. Today had the worst water conditions in the 25 years that they have been doing this. The evnet benefits the YMCA. I guess the participants had to deal with a head wind and very choppy water, they made the most rescues today then they have in all past events. All in all it was a good day. I just woke up from a quick nap and know I need to get ready to go to dinner with some friends and then I am not sure what we are doing from there. Ok, well I just wanted to send out a quick blog since it has been more than a week since my last post. I will get this under control one day......... Until then - See ya!
